The Boston Brass featuring Jose Sibaja and Jeff Conner on trumpet, Chris Castellanos on French horn, Lance Luduke on trombone, and Andrew Hitz on tuba will celebrate their 25th Anniversary in 2011. Performing in 49
states and 21 countries, they perform as a solo ensemble as well as with
orchestras and bands and conduct master classes throughout the world.
They have been featured on the CBS Early Show and NPR’s Performance
Today and have several CDs.
The five members of the ensemble bring a vast depth and wealth of experience to the group. Conner is a founding member of the Quartet. He received his masters from Boston University. LaDuke is the newest member of the Boston Brass and the solo euphoniumist for the River City Brass Brand. He teaches at Carnegie Mellon University and has performed with many of the top brass groups in the country and appeared on over 30 recordings. Sibajz is a native of Costa Rica and studied at the New World School of the Arts and the University of Miami. He is active both as
a soloist and orchestral player. Castellanos is a former member and soloist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and serves as a hornist for the Nevada Chamber Orchestra and the TAD Wind Symphony of Japan. When not touring with the Boston Brass, he can be heard in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom-The Las Vegas Spectacular.” Hitz received his degree from Northwestern University studying with Rex Martin. His love of chamber music began as a student of the Empire Brass Seminar at Tanglewood.
