Weekend Roundup: Zoes Kitchen, Easter Seals, J. Allen’s Easter Ideas, and Magnolia Mint.
It was another beautiful busy weekend in and around Birmingham. This weekend, we walked, we talked, and then danced the weekend away and in between we had some delicious goodies. Our Friday started with a delicious late lunch at Zoe's Kitchen. At Zoe's Kitchen, quality and freshness are the top ingredients in their healthy choice meals. It was the perfect pick for those who observe meatless Lenten meals with a great choice in a hummus plate, tuna salad, egg salad, or a nice fulfilling Greek salad. Our Saturday started out walking with Easter Seals of Shelby County at Veteran's Park in Alabaster. ...

Creative Homeschool Writing AKA Diary of a Whiny Homeschooler.

She knows multiplication and division so she is now ready to take on the world (so she thinks). But "Princess" has a little issue, she does not like handwriting. She likes to draw, she loves to make up stories, and she has quite a correspondence with various penpals across the globe, but when it comes to actually showing me some handwritten work, she melts! I'm a bit sympathetic sometimes. She is being raised in a world of techno, computer keyboarding. She can type really fast. ...

If so, check out Ruffner Mountain Summer Camp , Aldridge Gardens, Birmingham Zoo, or Old Baker Farm. Got a girly-girl (like my daughter) who wants to dance her summer away? Try Birmingham Ballet's Summer Program, the Children's Dance Foundation, or the Alabama Ballet and Center for Dance. If you have a child into sports, ...
